Happy Monday to all! How were your weekends? Ours was a little crazy. I did manage to make a few changes to my blog though! Did you notice?
I added a Page Gadget under the header where you'll now see Home, About, Tutorials, Buttons and Contact. Some, like Tutorials I've added info to already, and other's like, About I'm still working on. I've wanted to add this Gadget for a looooooong time but in the blogger template I use the gadget was set up to appear on the Left and I wanted it Center. Well I found a fantastic site called Blog Sentral and thanks to this tutorial I figured out how to center the gadget, yippee! I've got more categories to come so be sure to take a look see from time to time. : )
<div align="center"><a href="http://craftedbylindy.blogspot.com/" title="Crafted by Lindy"><img src="http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/vv315/craftedbylindy/125-x-125.gif" alt="Crafted by Lindy" style="border:none;" /></a></div>
I also added a "Grab a Button" gadget to the right hand side of my blog as well as more button sizes under "Buttons". Another item that I've been wanting to do for a looooong time. What kept me? Well I've never been able to come up with an image that I liked. I've been trying for awhile now but nothing seemed to be right then I found this post by my lovely friend Danielle on her blog The Merrieweather Council. As soon as I saw the picture she took of my Bunting Note Cards I thought "I wonder if that'll work?". I played around a bit and was so happy to find something that I thought looked pleasing to the eye as well as something people would want to click on or put on their blogs/sites. I really can't thank Danielle enough for all the help she's given me! I've added some links to her blog under "Tutorials". Be sure to check her out!
Finally I also made a few changes to my Etsy shop. I updated my Banner and Avatar so there's a bit of consistency between them and the buttons I created. I'm hoping soon the "shipping delays" part can be taken off (Canada Post is currently on strike).
I also learned that saving for the web is a marvelous thing and that .gif files look nicer on the web than .jpeg files. Go figure! Man I still have so much to learn but Photoshop Elements and I got along quite nicely over the weekend so that was a plus.
Also through Danielle I found a great Etsy forum post on SEO. That's my next project. I figure while the Canada Post strike is going on I might as well work on my shop. I also have some tutorials of my own planned for the blog so stay tuned!
Thanks for sticking with me through this longer than usual post. I hope you all have wonderful weeks!
