The Kings Speech.....

Yay for The Kings Speech which had a great night at the Oscars yesterday winning Best Picture among other awards (double yay for Colin Firth!). I absolutely love this movie, every part of it include the sets which I was fascinated with as I watched the movie. I wondered if they were made to look like theatre sets as they gave off that impression. Well Melanie at You Are My Fave sent me a link this weekend that made me jump for joy. The doctors office is a real place! Real!!!! It's a Georgian Townhouse located in Central London and you can actually rent it out (for a pretty penny I'm sure but still!). You can even take a look at the floor plans for the entire building. Check out the doctors office on page 3 which is officially called "Distressed Room". It's just so wonderful to know that amazing places like this actually exist in the world! Thank you Melanie for sharing this with me!

Why Pictures are Important!

Hands down the number one thing that catches my eye when I'm looking for a shop to feature is the product photography. If you have interesting, eye catching photographs that jump off the screen I'm ten times more likely to feature you. Interesting and unique photos make me excited no matter what the product and therefore I want to share it with my readers.

Why do I mention this today? Because the above photographs from the shop Twirl Away on Etsy are the perfect example of what I'm talking about. There are numerous shops on Etsy selling children's clothing and more specifically children's clothing for little girls so why did I pick this particular shop to feature? The photographs. I love, love, love how the photos are cropped, only showing the actual product that is on sale but still on a model. So unique and unlike what I typically see when shopping around online. I also love the neutral background, wood floors and having the little model standing on the foot stool is fantastic! All so unique!

Having great photos will get your shop noticed for Etsy features, blog features, treasuries, sales, the list goes on and on. Read all you can about taking great pictures, think outside the photographic box and see what you can come up with to help your shop stand out.

The second biggest reason I wanted to feature this lovely shop....the actual products. I love these little skirts! They're adorable. I love the styles and the fabrics! The four pictures above are only a small sample of what Twirl Away has to offer. Be sure to check this shop out!

Boom De Ya Da!

I've been having a pretty stressful few days lately. I saw this commercial on tv tonight and it made me smile. I love this commercial. It's been playing for awhile now which is awesome because it's one of those commercials that you just want to see over and over because it makes you happy. If you haven't seen it then for sure click play and turn on your sound. If you have seen it, well click play too. Can't hurt to see it again! Enjoy!

Slacker

Random Rambelings

Hey everyone!

* I've added a new song to my playlist. A little Tom's Diner by Suzanne Vega. I love this song. Love, love, love it!

* I'm not a huge fan of camping but I think if I had this trailer I might change my mind. Although I would want it to be a lot bigger and maybe parked in the lobby of a nice hotel. ; )

* I saw a funny bumper sticker today. The left side said "Yes this is my truck", the right side said, "No I won't help you move." Funny! The weird thing is about ten minutes later I saw the same bumper sticker again but on a different car. Does that ever happen to you? You notice something and then keep noticing it over and over. Like how you've never seen a Mazda Tribute until you buy one and then they seem to be everywhere. Hm.....

* My son surprised me today. We got out of the truck and I saw the neighbourhood cat. I put Aden down to see the kitty and he immediately bent down, put his hand on the ground, and started clicking his tongue calling the cat over. Amazing to me!

* I've been out of commission the last 6 days because we finally finished the painting (stairwell and bathroom) and hung a curtain rod, curtains, blinds, a mirror and some shelves. And in the middle of all of that we had a garage sale! Yikes! I huge thank you to my parents for helping us so much!

* Anyone else have seasonal allergies? Mine were so bad during the garage sale I just wanted to hide in the basement and never come up again. Their better now but only becuase I spend a lot of time indoors. I hope this doesn't last long. I take Reactine but it doesn't seem to always do the trick.

* May is almost over and I haven't had my monthly giveaway yet. Look for it this week! Hint, hint!
